NorCal Stampin' Event

Hello!
This past weekend, I attended a demo-only event in the Sacramento area called NorCal Stampin' Event. It is a one-day, fast and furious, stampin' extravaganza! A bunch of us demos get together and learn new techniques, chit chat, make new friends, swap cards and projects, and of course there's lots of stampin' involved. As a group, we tried #simplestamping, a campaign started by Stampin' Up! to showcase how easy it is to create a card with just one stamp set, one ink color, and paper. As you can see below, I cheated. #Simplestamping is HARD.

I signed up for a swap called "Fancy Fold Technique" and I created 12 swap cards using what's called a "fancy fold", or a card that has a special fold (not a normal card). I chose this swap in particular because it is definitely out of my comfort zone.

At NorCal Stampin' Event, I was able to spend time with my friends that I have met through Stampin' Up!, and I couldn't be more grateful. I love spending time with my stampin' friends!

Maria's 3 Color Challenge

Hello!

My BFF Maria's kids play a game called "3 Marker Challenge" where they grab three random markers and have to color an entire page using only those three colors. We thought it was a fun idea to see if we could challenge ourselves to do the same thing using our beloved Stampin' Up! colors.

I chose three colors for Maria; she chose three colors for me. She chose Mossy Meadow, Grapefruit Grove, and Daffodil Delight. The cool thing about Stampin' Up!, and the color theory they use, is that essentially every color will "go" with another color.

I thought Abstract Impressions would work well for this challenge.

After much trial and error, I finally came up with this card.

I had fun adding a bit of sparkle to the front with Wink of Stella. I loved this challenge, and I look forward to many more challenges with my BFF Maria!

Hello!
